(Q.1) A force 5 kN is acting along AB where A (0, 0, -1) m and B (5, -2, -4) m. Another force 8 kN is acting along BC where C (3, 3, 4) m. Find resultant of two forces and find moment of  resultant force about a point D (0, 3, -2).


(Q.2) A force acts at the origin in a direction defined by the angles θv = 65o and θz = 40o Knowing that the x - component of the force is 750N, determine (i) the other components (ii) magnitude of the force (iii) the value of θx.

Solution: 



(Q.3) Find the resultant of the spatial concurrent force system concurrent at A(1,0,0) and passing through points B (-1,3,5), C (3,5,7), D (0,4,0). Magnitudes of forces are, FAB = 100 N, FAC = 150 N, FAD = 200 N.

(Q.5) The A rectangular parallelepiped carries four forces as shown in the figure. Reduce the force system to a resultant force applied at the origin and moment around the origin. OA= 5 m, OB = 2 m,                             OC = 4 m.
